Biography & Resume Inna Boukreeva

Inna was born on February 24, 1974, in a picturesque village in the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine. She grew up among peach trees and rose bushes, in the spacious twenty-room house that her mother, Nina, had built. Nina worked as a hydraulic engineer at a large hydroelectric station (GRES), while Inna’s father was a worldly traveler, often on the road to Prague or to the Baltic states, Kazakhstan, and other Soviet republics.

The lush orchard and the flower-filled garden likely formed the breeding ground for Inna’s talent for drawing and her love of language. From a young age, she participated in literary competitions in both Ukrainian and Russian, where her linguistic aptitude and expressive ability clearly came to the fore.
